Moving Beyond Limitations Darrell York, a student at Thurgood Marshall who was struggling through school excelled, beyond our highest hopes. Early on in the project he was inspired by his brothers life and the community he represented. From this inspiration he created a panel memorializing both. His piece would later become one of the most well crafted pieces that came out of the project.

Building Bridges

The Industrial Design Outreach program builds bridges between students and their communities, by giving them the ability to access technological training and resources. It is essential to build bridges in these communities because:

  1. Visual and hands on media engages students who have lost interest in traditional academic methods.

  2. Exposes children to unknown career opportunities.

  3. Builds our economy for future generations.
